Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 2026

At CloudSlash, we believe in "Local-First" software. We are developers, and we understand that your infrastructure data is sensitive. This policy outlines exactly what we do (and do not do) with your data.

1. The CLI Tool (Zero Telemetry)

TL;DR We don't want your data. Your AWS keys never leave your laptop.

The CloudSlash Command Line Interface (CLI) is designed to run entirely on your local machine or within your private CI/CD environment.

  • AWS Credentials: We never transmit, store, or access your AWS Access Keys, Secret Keys, or Session Tokens. They remain in your `~/.aws/` directory or environment variables.
  • Infrastructure Data: We do not upload your Terraform state files (`.tfstate`), resource graphs, or cost data to our servers.
  • Usage Telemetry: The CLI does NOT contain background analytics or "phone home" tracking for usage patterns.

2. Updates

TL;DR We only check GitHub for updates.

To ensure you have the latest security patches, the CLI may check GitHub Releases to see if a newer version of CloudSlash is available. This reveals your IP address to GitHub, subject to GitHub's privacy policy.

3. The Website

TL;DR The website uses basic analytics.

When you visit `cloudslash.com` (this website), we may use privacy-focused analytics to count visitor numbers. We do not use intrusive tracking cookies or sell visitor data to ad networks.

4. Your Rights

We do not store your personal data, so there is nothing to delete. You are free to uninstall the CLI at any time.
